Story - My Favorite Movie

MY FAVORITE MOVIE

I always tried my best to watch a movie every Friday or Saturday night. It is one way of taking away my stress. Of course there are other things that I like doing that can have the same effect. Things like playing with my remote control helicopter or my Siamese cats; Going to a first class spa for a relaxing massage; Sitting at a nearby Starbucks, drinking coffee while reading a newspaper or magazine.

I could not count how many movies that I’ve watched over the years. Definitely it is more than a hundred, mostly it is American made films. To be honest, I don’t have any particular movie that I can call it my favorite, because I love them all.

But there is one recent film entitled “The Bucket List” that touches my heart so much. The Bucket List is a 2007 American film directed by Rob Reiner and starring award winners Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. The story follows two terminally ill men on a road trip with a wish list of things to do before they die.

This film reminded me of my dad who past away last August 1 because of cancer. I like this movie because it has certain truths being conveyed to the viewers. Truths like
“Life is Short” and “Family & Friends is important”.
But there is one line or dialogue being spoken by the actor Morgan Freeman that I feel is the real lesson. “FIND THE JOY”.

Is your life a joy to others? Do you have joy? Most of us are busy everyday working just to earn a decent living. We tend to forget that there is more to life than this. We also sometimes forget that we are just passers-by here in this world.

Isn’t it time for us to look at life differently? Don’t you want to have a meaningful life other than what you are doing now?

I am glad that I was able to watch this movie. It has further reinforced my conviction of striving to have a meaningful life. And that creating this website of Free From Tears
(www.freefromtears.com) is not a mistake. May all of us have a life that is a joy to others and also may you have joy in your life.

“FIND THE JOY”.
